Your Personal Consultation
Your agent will schedule a meeting with you at a mutually convenient time. The first thing he/she will do is describe the various types of relationships an agent may have with clients and what his/her duties under law are to you in each case. This first step is an important and legally required formality in place to protect the public in one of the biggest deals most people ever do! Once you have jointly decided which type of “Agency” relationship you will form the rest of the meeting will typically be focused on your objectives & needs, and then dive into some details about your property. The agent will do an assessment of your property, and answer your questions. This consultation gives you both the opportunity to get to know one another and to see if there’s a good fit.
Your agent will work up a Comparative Market Analysis that will detail her/his professional opinion as to how much your home may sell for and how long that may take. You’ll learn how the agent works, review his/her marketing proposal, and approach to selling your home. You will also talk about what you will need to do to best prepare the home for sale… staging, cleaning, yard work, repairs, etc.
If YOU decide to move forward the agent will prepare the appropriate MLS or Exclusive Sellers agreement for your signature!
